We’ve just completed the re-brand for Arts Bournemouth. During the design process someone in the studio had a thought. “How cool would it be if we could actually make the logo out of Neon?” We have lots of these types of thoughts and most of them never quite happen. However, on this occasion the client [...]

An amazing hail storm hit Longham, Dorset last night and I was right in it. I photographed it, just after it had passed over me, heading towards Dudsbury. The storm ‘washed’ the sky leaving a beautiful, calm, clear evening over Longham Lakes.

We’re delighted to announce that we won two gold awards at the Roses Advertising Awards 2011.
At a gala event, held in the Ramada Jarvis Hotel, Manchester, we won gold in the best use of Typography category for Skillset’s ‘Build Your Own MA’ campaign. For the campaign we used a series of adjectives that were created into a variety of objects.
Our second gold was awarded in the best use of Photography category for our national campaign to promote Skillset Academies. For the campaign we had a tick fabricated in various sizes and then dropped into different locations.
This campaign has already won gold at the Cream Awards 2010 for best use of photography.

We have produced a suite of sports portraits of students from The University of Nottingham.
The images will be lifesize and we wanted to make them feel strong and imposing. We shot the images outdoor and, unusually for a location shoot, hoped for rain, which thankfully we got. We used location lighting to highlight the models and to create a heavy contrast between them and the background.

We were commissioned to design the new identity for Samson Print, a print consultancy company.
We designed a simple grid-based motif based around an abstract of S and P. We then selected a sapphire foil block for the motif and a clear foil blocking for the text.

We have just completed the re-design of Ed Balls’ website. The site is designed around Ed being able to continually comment on current issues and also utlises the images that we took when we spent a day with him earlier in the year.

Blame the System is a new clothing company who wanted images to use for general promotional activities.
The initial range of pre-production clothes was fairly limited so in order to create as much variety as possible, we decided to hang the clothes in a range of settings.

We’re delighted to announce that we’ve been shortlisted in two categories of the 2011 Roses Design Awards.
Our work for Skillset’s Build your own MA has been shortlisted for best use of Typography. For the campaign we developed a set of adjectives that were then created by using a variety of objects that were then shot on film, animated and photographed.
We were also commissioned to produce a national campaign to promote Skillset Academies. For the campaign we had a tick fabricated in various sizes and then dropped them into various locations.
This campaign has already won Gold at the Cream Awards 2010 for best use of photography.

We went to the Cream Awards 2010 on Wednesday night at the Jam House in Birmingham and after meeting some likeminded individuals, having some interesting conversations and a few too many beers walked away with a GOLD in ‘best use of photography’ for the Skillset ‘Pick the Tick’ campaign.

We are in the middle of a six week location shoot in the North East and the North West. Phil had a day off at the weekend and went to visit Antony Gormley’s ‘Another Place’. I spent a couple of hours photographing Ed Balls in London yesterday for his Labour Party Leadership Contest website (launching tomorrow). It was quite hectic! A quick handshake and a ‘Hello’ then straight into shooting.
