Arts Bournemouth Branding

Share

Bournemouth Arts by the Sea Festival is an annual high-profile arts festival. A major initiative supported by the Arts Council England, the inaugural festival launched in 2011, attracting over 150,000 people and generating in the region of £3million. It was named by The Independent as one of the top ten events in the UK.

Now in its second year we were commissioned to re-design the festival’s identity, website and promotional materials. Given the breadth of activities that the festival promotes, we felt that we needed to develop a design that wasn’t reflective of any specific discipline but that could be used across all activities and also promote the fact the festival is based in Bournemouth.

We decided to commission a neon version of the logo so that we could then physically place it in a number of locations around Bournemouth which would both position the brand within the town and also give us a strong highly visual brand to promote both Arts Bournemouth and the Festival.

The fantastic people at Neon Workshops in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, took on the challenge and delivered a beautiful interpretation of the logo in Neon. It then took three people, a portable generator and a long, long day on location to create a suite of images for the ongoing promotional materials.
